BFP...chances of false positive?

Question

My AF is due on Monday the 27th but just took a pregnancy test and came back positive ! What are the chances this is totally right and not a false positive ?!? Don't want to get too excited. Once I can, I am going to take another test to make sure....thanks!!​

Congrats! Do another test in a few days and if the test line has gotten darker then yey!!! It means your hcg is rising! If it doesn't get darker then maybe it's a chemical. That's what happened with me... Never got any darker then a few days later I had af

I mentioned this in another post. In the ER where I work (RN) we say that any sign of a "positive line" is a positive.  Congratulations.

Congratulations!!!! AF is supposed to arrive on Monday 1/27 also. I haven't tested just yet. I would like to wait because I've been disappointed in the past. Can you describe any symptoms you had prior to testing? Was there anything different this time?

I think you can have a false negative but not a false positive. Congrats!!

It is definitely a positive. When people talk about false positives it normally is not actually false. Early term miscarriage can happen and get AF as normal. In this case the pregnancy would not have been known about unless an early test was taken. That being said that doesn't happen all the time so I say your pretty safe in getting excited and enjoying being prego. Congrats!!!!!

My AF is due on the 30th. I took 2 first response both having very faint BFP. So the next day I took clear blue easy digital advanced. Came out positive & felt more reassuring so maybe try one of those next time.
