What to expect?!?!

I'm having twins and have no clue what to expect this time. I have two kids already but they were singleton pregnancies. We never thought we would have twins because they don't run in the families at all. Any help will be appreciated!

My only pregnancy has been twins and it was a difficult one. I know most likely yours won't be like mine but I went into preterm labor back at 24 weeks and stayed on bedrest until they were born at 33 weeks. Idk if it was the bedrest or the extra weight but I was sore all the time and it hurt to even roll over in bed. My girls were born almost 3 weeks and are still in the nicu but doing well and are just working on eating and growing now! They're almost 5 lbs now  at 36 weeks gestation

Hi lady! Congratulations on your twins! With what to expect- you're automatically going to be considered a high risk pregnancy- mono/mono identical twins are the highest risk and deliver around 34 weeks I believe due to sharing of everything. Mono/di identicals deliver around 36 weeks and are also high risk due to shares placenta. Di/di are fraternal- high risk but not as bad because they each are their own person. Deliver around 37-38 weeks. Now what to expect.. tons of extra monitoring and ultrasounds depending on the type of twins you're having. A lot of physical pain 🙃 a lot of Braxton hicks (practice contractions) chances with twins are for you to go into labor on your own.. usually between 33-36 weeks. I had mono/di boys and had them at 33 weeks with a 2 week stay in the NICU due to breathing problems, and staying warm on their own outside of the incubators. I am pregnant with di/di boy girl twins now and 30 weeks this week. I'm giving myself two weeks to get everything remaining done just in case. I would prep everything by 30 weeks because usually after that is when things can go either way. For the most part you will need two of everything- it definitely made my life easier. You will need tons of help!!! Also it gets easier as they get older lol. Umm ask any questions if you have any because there's so much with twins! Xoxo && good luck!

I'm in the same boat!! 3 kids, all singletons..not twins in the families, im 11 weeks 1 days with the twins..we can be pregnancy buddies and help each other! just a thought! i dont know what to expect either!

We can be buddies!! I'm In the same boat. No idea what to except my fiancé has a 6 year old my sons 4 and our daughter is 6 months old and I'm 18 weeks with twins. It's gonna be rough!!

My twins due date was 10/26/16, Baby A's amniotic sack ruptured at 29 wks and I was life flighted to the nearest hospital with a NICU, I was on bed rest and hoping to make it to 34wks but delivered via emergency C section at 30w1d on 8/19/16. Baby A was able to leave NICU 10/5, Baby B wasn't ready until 10/24.  THAT was very hard. Before they were born I was asked if I would like to take a tour of the NICU, I said No (I was scared of what I'd see...) but it wasn't scary at all and in hindsight I wished I had just to know that. As much as I hated the situation, it allowed my body time to heal from the C section, and I had LOTS of experienced nurses (almost all of which were moms and/or grandmas) to ask ALL my many questions which helped me prepare for my new Mom role. As well as on site lactation specialists, which were also very helpful.  And as much as I Hated having my twins split apart, (every Second,) adjusting to life with one baby made it a bit easier to life with two when Baby B came home. 
Life is very busy, but as that was my first pregnancy- its all I know. My husband and I talk about how much spare time we'd have with just one baby, how much easier it would be, and how we never have to fight over who gets the baby, this way we each get one to snuggle and love on.  It is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't have it any other way!!
