Why do people keep taking OPKs after the 1st positive?

Hi friends! I was wondering what the reason might be for ladies to keep taking ovulation predictors after they get a positive ?? Isn't it just wasting OPKs?? Because if you get 2 in a row, which day do you count as O day?

​Candace- that's smart. I tried temping for one month and it drove me crazy plus I don't have a regular waking schedule.

I typically don't keep testing once I receive a positive. I usually just keep checking bbt to watch for a spike so I know I actually ovulated.

I wonder if I should continue to take OPKs after the first positive ?? I just got one at CD12

There are some of us with pcos also who don't actually ovulate even though we may get a positive result on an OPK, so we have to keep taking the OPKs until we see a temp rise and know for sure that we ovulated. Kinda tricky :)

That's what I have been doing also! My opk directions say to stop after the first positive because it gets confusing. That is what I go with. I guess some people like to see when their surge ends maybe?
