Is shaving my vagina better than not shaving at all?

I'm 16, going to the 11th grade in 1 week. I've been wondering if shaving my vagina is better than not. I'm not really sure. I know that it's popular, but I don't know if there are any benefits that would help me out. 
Let me know if you have an opinion in the comment section below (I sound like a Youtuber don't I...? 😂).

Eh my mom was very adamant about me not doing it for some reason. I really don't like having hair down there. It freaks me out. The hair there is apparently supposed to aid in preventing infections, but infections are quite common in women regardless of their upkeep with their pubic hair. I prefer to use an electric razor as it prevents razor bumps for me and gets the job done well. It's not necessary by any means, though.

Trimming is also an option, keeps it short and you don't have to worry about ingrown hairs or razor bumps. ❤️

If you can hack it wax it, it helps with ingrown hairs from razing and eventually the hairs come back a lot thinner and not so many
If you're going to get infections then you'll get them, hair or bare 😋

I mean, shaving may be a bit more sanitary but there's generally no great benefit of shaving if you keep your vuvla clean.

I shave it because that's my boyfriend's preference. It doesn't really bother me either way. However it's good to maintain your bush with a trim here and there. That way you'll feel better and won't be putting yourself at risk for any infections or pube ripping incidents

I shave it. Hair collects bacteria and if you're wearing tight clothing, it'll be easier to get an infection rather than shaving it.

It hurts when I shave.. can anyone explain this to me??  I have to go get my bikini line waxed when I know I'll go swimming.  It's annoying as hell.  I wish I could just shave but it really hurts me a lot
