Needing some advice!! Possibly some kind words 😭

So my boyfriend has been thinking about possibly enlisting in the military for a really long time but had changed his mind and decided to work towards getting into the police academy instead. Well, yesterday he suddenly sprung it on me that he decided he was going to enlist in the Navy. Just because of how many times he said he was going to do it and didn't, I didn't believe that he was really going to do it. But he did. I support him and I love him very much, I'm not angry with him but I will say that I'm really upset about it because it was so sudden and I'm not ready for him to be gone for two months and I'm terrified of the possibilities after he's done with Basic. I'm so proud of him for taking this step in his life but I don't want to show how sad i really am because I don't want him to feel guilty or regretful just because I'm scared of this change. So I came here to ask any of you that might be a Navy girlfriend or military girlfriend in general to give me an idea of what to expect? I hope i don't sound insane being this freaked out about it. 😅
