FTM here planning a home birth with my midwives and maybe a doula, plus my husband and maybe my mom.

I am considering the logistics of a home birth and a big hurdle for me is figuring out what to do with our two big dogs once the birth process begins. I thought maybe of putting them in a kennel or with a friend for a couple days but am not sure if it would be better to have them around, as they are part of the family and they might take better to baby at first introduction if they were there to hear and smell etc. the baby being born. So I'm also thinking of asking my mom to join us and her main job would to be make sure the dogs are looked after but out of the way, while also being around to help out and witness everything (it's not like the dogs require constant attention).

Anyone else have experience with dealing with their dog(s) during home birth? What did you do with them? Any advice?
