Right or wrong thing??

We are gonna give myself and the other person fake names. I will be let's say Julie. She will be molly. Molly went to hang out with some friends one night and was raped. Moly told Julie(her sister) and Julie told her mom and amber(her mom) told her dad bill. Bill is livid. I don't know how bill will react to this. Did I do the right thing or should I just have let it slide. Cause I did happen a good 9 months ago. And she just told me. Did I do the right or wrong thing?
Update: bill is not going to say anything about it and will basically let it slide this really makes me mad cause what if he does it again? What if he does it to another girl? What if he doesn't stop? I believe this was her way of reaching out for help and they are not helping.

I think that you did what you thought was right and you were trying to protect her. Yes she told you something very private, maybe you shouldn't of told anyone,  but you did it with good intentions. Maybe now your sister will be able to get some support...hugs 💕

it should have came out before 9months. thats probably why bill is so livid. yeah it is veey scary to tell someone that as they might feel it was their fault. but my sister was raped not to long ago an only told me an she was too scared to ask for help so i did it for her i told my mother an me an my mother got her the help she needed my sister was pissed i told my mother but now she tells me that if it wasnt for me then she would never have gotten help an never been able to live that night down.

She was RAPED. You did the right thing for telling someone but maybe you should've asked her first or maybe encouraged her to have done it herself? I know it isn't an easy topic to discuss and some people are ashamed of it. I had a friend who told me and was TERRIFIED to tell her family but I encouraged her and pushed her to only because something needed to be done to the person who did it. They shouldn't be able to walk freely because if they done it once, they'll probably do it again.
