He proposed!!!

My significant other and I have been planning to get married for almost a year now, but he hadn't formally proposed, even though we referred to each other as fiance's and the like. This weekend, I flew out to Coronado CA for a family reunion. Friday afternoon, his sisters descended on me and did my makeup professionally and dressed me in a really pretty dress his mom made for me, the top half of a wedding dress cut short for a more casual look. I still thought this was just for the party because I'd asked him the day before if he was still planning to propose in October and he said yes.

We went by the church where his parents got married, went inside and prayed together with his family, and then he took me outside to see this little garden. We sat down and talked for a minute or so and then he said he had an important question to ask me and went down on his knee. I didn't believe it until he pulled out the ring box (the same one his dad used to propose to his mother 😍). Well, of course I said yes 💖
