Sleep apnea in 16 month old..

So I have been noticing for a little bit now that my son will snort, inhale deeply, or stop breathing for a second (I always move him when he does that) and I'm starting to think he may have sleep apnea. My ex (his dad) i remember doing the same stuff and I told him about it but he never worried about it.. Does anyone else's child have this? I plan on calling his doctor tomorrow and telling them about it but some in site now would be helpful. If he does have it what would they do for it? Is it dangerous? bc It has me worrying.. Thank you
