How long does your cold usually last?

I've had an awful cold since Monday and I just want to see how long the cold symptoms last for others as well.

My grandmother always said "One week to come, one week to stay, one week to clear up and go away." Which I've found to be pretty accurate. 
Like you feel something coming on for about a week, you're sick for a week, and then you're just getting rid of the built up snot, but feel much better for a week before you're finally back to normal.

It depends on the cold... ive had one cold that lasted 3 weeks! Others, gone in 3 days.
