So apparently an all female lord of the flies movie is in the making, and of course it's going to be written and directed by men. Twitter went OFF and with good reason. The entire POINT of the book, was that it's an allegory talking about the dangers of toxic masculinity and the patriarchy and problems that arise from a masculine-only/dominate system.
