HCG BLOOD TEST RESULTS

So yesterday my doctor gave me a HCG blood test for pregnancy and i got the results today and it was negative. 6 days before my period. Those blood tests are suppose to be more accurate than a urine test. Could it still be just too soon? Anyone else had this happen and still became pregnant?

Edit: I'm really close with my doctor and I got a faint positive urine test and I think it was just an evaporation line. I'm trying for a baby so when I asked him if he could do the test he didn't shut me down he let me take it and said if it's negative to come back after my missed period. :) Why do some people just love to start drama for no reason? That's not what I asked you in my post.
