Help me decide once and for all: between the Skyla and copper IUD, which would you rather have? Please explain below. :) What are the pros and cons?

I have the Skyla and I love it! I think it also depends on your body! If you aren't as sexually active or have not had a baby, Skyla is better because it's a little smaller!
I understand the debate about the hormones, but the hormones from the skyla do not get into your blood stream, so it stays in your uterus. I absolutely love my Skyla and think the IUD is the best birth control for me and my body!

I was torn between skyla and paragard. I thought it'd be best to ask my dr his opinion and I'll tell you what he told me. Skyla is hormone based to where paragard is just copper. He told me that the copper in it could cause an aggressive environment and terrible cramping could come with it. However I personally feel like you should go with your gut. I know you see a lot of people on here talking about how it hurts. I'll be honest. If you haven't had a kid then yes. You're going past your cervix and into your uterus and your body has never experienced that. So by putting an actual foreign body into your uterus, naturally it will cramp and spasm to try and "reject" it regardless of it being skyla or paragard. But in the end, research the pros and cons of each one and go with your gut.

I have the copper and it is great. periods are a bit longer, fuller and just a bit mire painful tgan they used to be but, it has gotten much better in the padt months. git it on januar, furst 3 pr four periods were hell because i had never had cramps, but now i dont get them that much anymore
