Will any of you be purchasing a sleep monitor? Such as the owlet sock?

I never had one with my older 2. I'm not really sure I even knew about them 7 and 5 years ago. Of course I worried about SIDS until they were a year old. With this baby I'm just wondering if I should purchase one.

I bought one with my first baby and literally never used it.

We purchased the owlet for our now 16 month old and still use it every night.  It's never caused burns or anything.  We have had 3 alerts in 16 months (I wouldn't consider that excessive at all), I would much rather deal with an oxygen level of 80% or a heart rate of 60 versus some of the other alternatives that don't alert you until there is no movement/breathing.
We will be using it on him as long as the sock fits or until this next one arrives in March.  Totally worth it for piece of mind in my opinion. My husband lost a sibling to SIDS and our little boy has slept from 9:30PM to noon the next day and I can always check the app to see what his stats are versus going in and waking him up because I'm worried.

At first it seemed like a good idea for peace of mind, then I read the reviews. 
So many people say it goes off all the time, falls off, or just doesn't work.

I did. I wouldn't do the omelet because it's to be on the barefoot. I have the most recent angelcare system. Old versions some had false alarms but mine never did. Also ALL of these can have false alarms. The one with the most noted false alarms is the snooza. The reason I got one was because we did straight to crib (no judgments pleass) but if you are not doing straight to crib then you totally don't need one.

We just use a video monitor with sound. Our baby was holding his head up on day 2 and rolled over pretty fast. The video was nice to be able to hear and watch him and not disturb his sleep at the same time

Definitely not. My 8 month old was in the nicu and those sensors go off all the time for no reason. It will just stress you out and make you think something happened when in reality nothing even happened lol. And I heard they are dangerous. Just another gimmick.
