Spotting on peak ovulation day

Hello, I haven't been TTC for very long (3 months only) so am still trying to figure out my ovulation timing. I follow this app and have ovulation kits I use monthly. The past two months have been pretty "normal" and by that I mean my ovulation has been between 10-14 days after my period. However this month I took my ovulation test and my peak ovulation day was 28 days after my period AND I had some spotting. Another thing to note is that I felt ovulation symptoms (tender breasts, Optimal CM) on Day 10-14 as opposed to now on my actual peak day. Has anyone had experience with their ovulation dates fluctuating from month to month? Or your symptoms not matching with the ovulation test says? TIA
