Have you ever been corrected/given advice on your parenting by someone who isn't a parent?

Have you ever had your parenting or something you've done as a parent corrected by someone who isn't a parent? Or Have you ever received advice on parenting by someone who isn't a parent? Don't count any experiences you've had on glow, I'd like to know if you have been personally corrected or given advice by a mom parent to your face.

Yes. It doesn't bother me. Just because someone doesn't have kids, doesn't mean their suggestions should be dismissed.

Sometimes it's someone who has professional knowledge that is really helpful. If they offer it In a judgy way I'm far less likely to listen though

Yes, and I actually learned from it! I guess it's just a matter of how people talk to you. I don't like people insisting, but I always listen to people who are trying to help out, sometimes I agree with their opinion, and sometimes I don't. Just because they aren't parents doesn't mean they don't have actual real life experience or a valid point.

So far it's only been from my sister who runs a daycare out of her house so some of her comments are valid and I take them into consideration. She's polite about it, though, just says "this worked for so-and-so when he did that."
