How did you know when you found "the one"?

I've been in two long term relationships and I'm currently in one. A couple of days ago my boyfriend asked me "can you see yourself spending the rest of your life with me?" And the question hasn't left my mind because sometimes I feel like I can't be with him forever, however I am happy with him in this moment and the way things are going. I just don't feel like we're going to be together forever.. if that makes sense. I felt the same way in my first relationship that was of 6 years. I haven't had a moment where I feel "this is the man I'm going to be with for the rest of my life" 
I'm 22, and a lot of my friends are getting engaged or some have already gotten married. I wonder why I can't find someone I want to be with for the rest of my life. I know 22 is young, but it just makes me think. 
How did you know when you found the one?

Ok honestly this is the most basic answer but it's so true, I swear. When you know, you just know. It's not really something you can explain. It's just something you feel.

I met my husband in October, we were dating the beginning on November,  engaged mid January, married in March, had a wedding with friends and family in June, now we're pregnant and SO excited and happy together.  I've been married once before and I can tell you,  this relationship is already infinitely better.  Sometimes you just know. It can happen fast or slow. But my advice would be to stop spending years on men you don't see a future with.

I don't mean it rudely, but then I'd stop wasting both of your time. Of course minds can always change later, but if he is in the mind set that he's ready to settle down, you'll be wasting his time by not being in the same place. It can seem like you're never finding that "right guy" because instead of being out there finding him, you're with the same guy you don't even see your future with. 🤔

Well first of all there's no such thing. You seem to have these unrealistic ideas of long term love and relationships. Most of us find "the .85" or whatever and round up. Not everyone has some beautiful omg this is the man I'll be with forever moment. Take it one day at a time. While he makes you happy, great. Don't put so much pressure on either of you. <3

everyone has their bad days, but you know that when you're doing tiny things to make their day better, and their bad moods don't make you want to leave them. You just know.

I'm 22 as well and I'm with my boyfriend since we were both 11, so we've just spent half of our lives together. You just know hun. And there's no shame if he is not the one for you, we have so many years ahead of us that we have time to found our better half 😊♥️
