Mixed Signals? Guy wanting me to chase him?

So this coworker and I have been chatting and we've talked about hooking up, flirting, pics were traded (nothing naked), etc. ill snap him and try to have a conversation but he just leaves me on read. I'm just very confused. But I learned he told my friend he "lives for the chase". In other words the girl chasing him. Confused if he's not interested or just tryna make me chase him. I'm not up for that. I just want something easy and not a relationship. So should I just stop snapping/chatting him all together and turn it around or still talk to him? What should I do if I see him at work? (He has said things to me in person too about hooking up) just gettin mixed signals
