Working out of state

My boyfriend of 5 months has applied for a job that would take him out of state for two weeks at a time. I really want to be supportive of him, because is a well paying job and he has a son, with his ex, but I don't like that he would be gone for long periods of time. He left this morning for his interview and I hope it goes well for him,but at the same time I don't want him to get it. I know it's selfish of me. But does it make me a bad girlfriend? I'm really trying to be supportive of him.
