Cervix pos. Help?

Question

I usually don't feel my cervix or do any checks for it but today when I did my CM check I could feel it. So I assume that means it's low. It's also very firm. How do I know if it's opened or closed? And what does my cervix positioning and firmness tell me? Why do people track it?

People track it to better help them understand when they're fertile/ovulating, along with checking their CM. Low, dry and closed would indicate you're not at your ovulation time, your cervix would feel firm, like the tip of your nose. High, wet and open would be closer to your fertile time and your cervix should feel soft, like touching your lips.
