no sex. not real relationship.

I'm 18 and my so called best friend says I've never had a real relationship because I've never had sex with them. she acts like I am a child because I've never had sex. my first real boyfriend was freshman year and we dated until about junior year. but for us sex never really came up... we meant more to each other than that and I feel that sex doesn't determine a relationship for say. opinions?
