my cycle feels weird this month

my boyfriend and I have been together almost 2 years, with a year of friendship prior to us becoming "official." He has always held the stance of not having kids until he is at least 30 years old (he turns 26 this year.) I have a child, 5 years old, from a previous relationship and I have been ready to have another one for quite sometime. about 2 months ago, he decided he was finally ready to start trying. we have been trying for 3 cycles, and each one has just been a negative. I was really hoping this would be the time we got it right. my period is due to start in friday, but I started spotting tonight. I have always had regular periods and have never started early like this. kinda had me even more nervous to see what happens at the end of the week.
