Third trimester?

I've seen a lot of posts lately at 26-27 weeks women say they're in their third trimester? I thought 28 weeks was third trimester? My doctor starts third trimester at 28 weeks so I've been basing it off what he goes by but is this just like the month game where some people think this and some think that?

Yes some people say 27 but the most common consensus is 28. For whatever reason this app thinks it starts at 26 so I think that throws people off on here. 😂 But if you actually went by thirds (divided 40 weeks into 3 equal trimesters) it would technically start after 26.6 so I think that's where the 27 weeks comes in. 🤗

It's confusing. At 28 weeks there are 12 weeks left or about 3 months. But that would mean first two trimesters are 14 weeks each to get to 28...

I thought the third trimester starts at 28 weeks but have heard some people say it's 27.

People are talking about it because this app says "welcome to your third trimester" on the 26 weeks update. I always assumed it was 28 weeks but I honestly have no idea! :)
