Will you be allowing hospital visitors after birth?

I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd child. When my son was born we allowed all visitors and it became overwhelming with everyone (20ish people total) showing up unannounced at all hours of the day. Just curious what some other moms are doing.  I want to say no visitors besides the grandparents... but don't want to upset anyone :/

Just do what we are doing and don't announce that you're in labor publicly. We are only texting our immediate family. No one else will even know we have had her until we are home.

Unless we end up in the NICU again, all (vaccinated) visitor allowed. However not until I've been able to shower. If I'm sleeping, hubby can entertain guests. Only adults will be allowed to hold baby.

I've only ever allowed my husband to stay with me, but my mom/sister/dad will bring my big boys to meet the baby so immediate family only.

I allowed all visitors with my first as well and it just became too much. I am going to allow parents, grandparents and siblings all at different times this time.

I live with extended family and am having a home birth. I'm not even allowing the people I live with to meet my child for 2 days. Those first few days of bonding can impact a child's entire life and your entire relationship with them. The baby doesn't need to be passed around or exposed to so many germs. Just bond with your baby and let everyone else see them later. If they want to see a newborn so badly they can have their own

There should be an immediate family and immediate friends option lol The way it works around us is unless you have an express invite from the parents to be, you don't visit at the hospital but wait until they come home. I have close friends that I would love a visit from but not ALL of the my friends and family would be welcome...and I wouldn't think it was appropriate.

For both my son and daughter I always had visitors after birth and at least one other person besides my SO in the delivery room. This time, I don't want any visitors until after we've been home for a week or so and get settled. And it will only be my SO with me in the delivery room. My family isn't too thrilled, but both times we never got much bonding time with our brand new baby, and this time, I want to soak it up as much as possible.

after your first kid barely anyone visits. with my second I had barely any visits including family. all the excitement seems to go to the first baby.
