Pierced nipples.......? (Always pregnant, no babies😢)

Question

This I my third pregnancy.... no doctors have ever told me why I lost the first two.... but I am super hopeful this time.... and my symptoms are so much more pronounced... 
Anyways.. I got my nipples pierced around 2013 and I REALLY really want to breastfeed. I know that I SHOULD be able to...  (as long as I take the jewelery out when little potato is hungry) My own teeth are crooked teeth enough myself 😂😂
I just want to know your experiences in this matter...... I (MIGHT) be only 5ish weeks... but my boobs are so big and painful (like, everything about them is painful except the jewelry alone😂)

I love my piercings (I have like 11ish total) and I am well aware that some people don't like such a thing.. but that's okay.. I am me and you are you.. I have a grain of salt that I can use 😊😁😍😉😀

Don't have nipples pierced but I would think taking them out at every feeding would be a pain in the butt lol. Some newborns cluster feed every 45min to an hour at first..... for me, that would get old fast ha

I went to my local piercing professional to get longer bars when I found out i was preggo. She said speaking from personal experience she had wished she took hers out early in her pregnancy. She told me that her son got too much milk from the extra holes so it can potentially be too much for little ones to handle. But it's personal choice, honestly I took her advice. I loved having mine don't get me wrong but thinking about breast feeding and trying to maintain them was a lot. You'd have to clean before you fed take out the jewelry clean after put the jewelry back in and so on every time baby was hungry. So I decided to just take them out and let my body do what it needed, I'm now 18wks and they're 100% healed. I had mine pierced for 4 years prior to finding out about my pregnancy. So honestly it just depends on you, but I personally didn't want to deal with the fuss of it all. Best of luck to you!!

I've had both mine pierced but had to take them out due to an infection. However, I think it would be very annoying for you after even just a few feedings. Your nipples will be sore and possibly cracked and fiddling with jewellery, trying to get it in and out every 2-3 hours will probably stress you a lot. Why not take them out a few weeks before your due date, and just not have them pierced for the time you breastfeed, and then redo them? 
I know re doing them is super painful, but boy isn't it beautiful! Just my two cents here. I understand if you don't want to take them out. I sorta had to and I wasn't home so I had no replacements, and by the time I got home they'd pretty much closed. Now a little bit of colostrum keeps leaking out every now and then LOL.

had mine pierced for years. I didnt take them out untill i was 36 weeks. I have no problems breast feeding my daughter just has milk coming out of more holes but trust me you should just leave the piercings out untill you stop breast feeding. when baby is screaming the last thing you wanna do is mess with the jewelry. any questions I'd be happy to answer.

I took mine out in my second trimester because my boobs were so incredibly sore. Pretty sure they closed up but I'm just going to get them redone after I'm done breastfeeding. 
A good friend of mine had hers done and took them out for the two years she nursed her daughter and they didn't close up or give her any problems.

I don't have pierced nipples but have breastfed two babies.  Your nipples in the first few weeks of breastfeeding will hurt like a bitch.  Most likely.  My nipples were a mess!!  Cracked and bleeding and excruciatingly painful while nursing those first few weeks.  I get shivers just thinking about it.  I couldn't imagine putting in and taking out piercings during that time.  But everyone is different.  Maybe you won't have difficulties nursing.  Good luck to you on this pregnancy!!

I have one nipple pierced, have had it for over 15 years. I am currently 27 weeks pregnant. My midwife said the only issue is that milk can come out the piercing holes, and that it generally comes out too quickly. If that happens baby may decide they don't like to nurse on that side. She said it's unlikely, but that it could happen. if it were to happen I would only be able to feed on one side and have to pump the other.... Not sure if it would be different with both of them pierced. She also said it's better to take them out before baby and before your milk comes in. I already had to take out my belly ring as it got very sore, so I have taken the nipple song out yet, but I think next week I will. I never made it to the third trimester with my first baby, we lost our first at 17 weeks, so I think the third trimester might be the time to accept that this baby really might be coming home.
