Checking hcg levels?

So I'm seeing a lot of posts about women getting their hCG levels checked at the doctors office. I'm just wondering is this something you go to your OB for? Do you specifically make an appointment to have your hCG levels checked?

Most of the women who have their HCG quantities checked have them checked for a reason such as having infertility treatments and/or a previous miscarriage. Also if they've been having bleeding or other complications. If you haven't had any issues previously or if you aren't having any now you won't need to have blood work done until your first appointment.

I requested to have mine checked to see doubling numbers at 3w6d and 4w1d. There was no appointment I just went to the lab at hospital and had blood drawn those two days 48hrs apart. The doctor's were perfectly ok ordering the tests for me with no history of MC

I had mine checked this week. Because I have PCOS and irregular/ long cycle. It came back low 266 at 6 weeks. I'm getting a dating scan in 2weeks time. Then 12 weeks and 20 weeks

Previous mc for me, getting hcg checked just to make sure everything is moving along as it should. It isn't routinely checked though unless there has been an issue.
