Is my baby drinking enough each session?

So my daughter is 1 week old today and I am a FTM.  Right now on average my little girl is drinking about 9 to 10 min on first breast and 4 to 5 min on the other breast.  She always falls asleep no matter how uncomfortable I make her. I always wait to change her til half way through just to help with the wake process...  I play with her neck chest feet hands but no go once I got that 14 to 15 min mark.  I try to express to see if she will continue on...no go..   I can say that she tends to have a wet one and dirty with every 3 hr session that we have so I think that means I shouldn't worry but wanted to see what everyone else thinks or if you have any tips.  I should also add that she came 3 weeks early at 36 weeks 6 days.  So I know they tend to be sleepier at that point.

It sounds like you are doing a great job. As she gets older it might help to try give her a big feed when she first wakes then have a play and change her then a smaller top up feed before she goes down again. They can drink faster than we can express too, so she is probably getting more than you think she is.

Sound all pretty normal. This is just a phase and won't last. As long as she is gaining and having the right amount of diaper, she's getting enough. Babies respond to milk flow. When the milk is flowing they are awake and drinking. When letdown stops they have to suck to stimulate another and this is when they usually nod off. Breast compressions can help encourage them to keep sucking as it gives them another extra squirt. But it sounds like she just had her fill and is ready to sleep😊

Yeah for awhile their feeds are shorter. If she's having enough wet diapers, I wouldn't worry. My daughter is almost three weeks old and rarely reaches 30 mins on one feeding session.

since I wrote this, my baby has now moved up to almost an avg of 20+ minutes a session.  she is now 1 am 1 day old.

I can understand you. My guy is bf, first are like 1.20 mins TOTAL in 24 hours, then decreased to 50 mins, now 30 mins on average. He's 7 months old. No matter what I do, he is drinking for 30 - 36 mins TOTAL in 24 hours. 
Lactation consultants didn't help much. 
He latches like a vacuum cleaner.
He does not always gets "to an end" [of the stored milk], so often he will get thirsty like in an hour.
He was all great with this approach, until 6.5 months, when we weighted him, and his weight appeared on the medium line on the chart (previously hi has gained well, and his graph was above the medium).
Am I worried? Hell, yeah... I wish he ate for 10-15 minutes each session!!!

I had the same problem, my son only drinks for 5-7 min max then refuses to take anymore, but he has wet and dirty nappies often after every feed... he puts on 5-6 ounces per week so he's getting enough. They definitely drink more than we think :) x
