SOS Is this normal for a belly button piercing???

I got my belly button pierced about a week ago and it was doing great the first couple days, I cleaned it 3 times a day like I'm supposed to, didn't touch it with dirty hands I was doing perfect, the past few days it has become super swollen and painful and red, I don't want to take it out because I love it but I don't want it to be infected like this so I really really really need opinions because I'm about to lose my dang mind !

it does look a little too red. the best thing to do is leave it alone. wash it a couple of times a day with saline spray. salt water soakes are outdated. touch it as little as possible. don't pick the crusties off, don't wear clothing that will rub on it. if it leaks pus or smells bad see a doctor.

i got mine done abiut 2 months ago and it still has puss come out. your bar looks a bit short so maybe get a longer ball but the redness is normal mine is like that too

it's normal to be swollen however that bar looks too short. piercers should leave a little bit of room for swelling.

Betadine!! (That red solution)
I swear by it. You should be able to get it over the counter. I used it on my tregis piercing that was super infected pus and all and that cleared up everything!

Yes , when I got my belly button freshly percied it did the same thing it took nearly a full year to heal . Naval percings are one of the most pain in the asses percings to take care of so do CLEAN it every day at least 2-3 times.

Looks like its infected. What are you cleaning it with? I always used peroxide and the solution the piercer guys gave me. I can't remember what it was since I was 16 when I got it done.

If you're using salt it probably is irritating it, use salt very lightly very seldom and was with ANTIBACTERIAL soap only

clean it with salt water 3x a day. if you have a shit glass those work great to soak it like I think it's 5 to 10 minutes. I've had mine for years so I don't remember exactly on the time but yea and make sure to "play" with it in the shower like up and down for it to heal better. I did that and it was fine. also you can always ask your piercer on what to do if you're still unsure
