Placenta at front?

Question

Today I went to my 16 week appointment and the midwife checked for a heartbeat which was all fine, but told me my placenta is at the front? I didn't have this with my first pregnancy and my 12 week scan was all fine and they didn't mention that?  I'm confused she didn't really explain, what does it mean and how would she know? Any help would be great x

Mine also anterior and it was also with my first. It doesn't mean nothing bad just means that some may not feel baby kick as early or as much because it cushions baby kicks.

My placenta is anterior as well I didn't find out till I was 20 weeks at 20 week scan!! It's nothing to worry about im 39 weeks pregnant and caused me no trauma!! Xx

Mines at the front too, it doesn't really make a difference. I'm 40+1 now and it's never really been mentioned. x

Mine is at the front too. MW said nothing to worry about at all. It is good that it is not in the way of baby's exit route!

Did she use the doppler ? If she did she will of heard it at the front , mines at the front when I use my doppler I get my pulse the placenta swooshing and the baby heartbeat you have to really listen to get the heartbeat It's an obvious swooshing coming from the placenta it's normally meant to be heard in the background but when it's at the front it's the first thing you hear with the doppler x
