What is gripe water...

So this might be a dumb question, but I'm a FTM so I need a little help!! Was at the store looking at all the medications and saw several different types of "gripe water" what exactly is this and what does it do?? And is it something I need to purchase?

It is purified water that's been boiled with fennel and ginger root and then strained and bottled. It's essentially ginger ale for babies - it relieves gas, upset tummy, hiccups, etc.

Best stuff ever!! Get it. I get it for all of my new mama friends. My son was such a gassy baby for at least his first 6 months and it truly helped him almost instantly.

It's a life saver!!! 
I had never heard of it until my son was constipated, I gave him some and he passed 2 hard round balls and he was instantly better.. 
it's like 9$ a bottle here but it's soooo worth it!!

when my babygirl gets the hiccups and super fussy i give it to her and it takes them right away

Couldn't actually tell you what it is, but it helps baby with gas, which almost all babies struggle with and causes them to be fussy or downright irate. Anyway, it works! Buy some to have on hand!
