trying to get pregnant

I had a laparoscopy July 27th for endometriosis and pcos. Immediately after my surgery I had spotting slash period for five days. after that nothing. it is now the 11th of September and still no period or ovulation. this surgery was supposed to help me conceive in 3 months. I keep getting cramps off and on for day days at a time bit they just go away until the next time. no spotting either. I'm so confused is it supposed to take the long. what if my problems come back before I get pregnant. I don't want to have to start all over again with doctors and surgery. did any of this happen to you. any ideas. my doctor told me not to come back until November.
