Can there be compromise with a slob?

I like my home to be clean, when something is garbage, it gets thrown out rather than sit for days. I enjoy cleaning but not cleaning up after someone else, I'm a wife not a mother. Chores have fallen onto me, the toilet in particular. He'd let it get so nasty and then do a shit job (punny!) cleaning it, so I've taken over rather than be the nagging wife. One night, I had to vomit in the tub because I couldn't bring my face near the disgusting toilet. I told him the next day, he said "sorry".
