Rules of asking to be induced?

So I'm 35 weeks on Saturday, first time mom, obviously uncomfortable. A woman I work with said I can talk to my providers about getting induced a week before my due date or so? I obviously want baby in there for the lungs to be developed, but since 37 weeks is technically considered full term I was wondering if that was true?

Have you looked at the risks involved in getting induced? I understand waiting is hard I really do (I went 10 days past my due date with my first). I hate being pregnant but pitocin causes it's own set of problems including increasing the risk of needing a c-section (which will only make taking care of your new little one so much harder).

Getting induced is a lot more painful and a long drawn out process than just waiting to go into labor naturally. When you're induced your contractions are a lot stronger.

they will refuse to induce unless there is a medical reason because the longer baby stays on the healthier he will be when he's out the womb. plus many complications can arise from being induced. I recommend reading up on some and just give baby the time he needs and he'll be out before you know it.

Being induced is NOT fun nor easy on labor. I had High Blood pressure with my second and had to be induced for our safety. I was in extreme pain and in labor 18hours!!! Compared to my first who came natural and I was in labor for 4 hours!!!! I would NEVER ask to be induced just because. Medically necessary,  then okay. Outside of that. Let your baby come when he/she is ready.

It depends on your doctor. 
Honestly though being induced isn't as easy on the baby as letting baby come on their own. Quite a few inductions have to be turned into emergency c-sections because they baby & your body simply wasn't ready.

Normally, they won't induce you unless there's possible complications that could arise if you go into labor on your own or if you've had serve discomfort. Also most doctors always say they want you to hit a full 40 weeks before induction. Every doctor and hospital is different so just ask your provider about information and see what their procedure and thoughts are! I used to want to be induced because of all my discomfort and I'm 39 weeks and four days and I have vomited every single day of this pregnancy, and it's been really hard. But I read more into it, and the best thing is for your baby to let you know when she/he's ready and when it's time. I know it's hard but you got this!! Unless there's anything serious going on I would just wait for her or him to let you know. Also it's kind of a little surprise lol, because your water could break any day you know?? You did 8 months girl, you have five more weeks or less!!!

My doctor won't even discuss being induced until 41 weeks unless there is an emergency

37 weeks is full term my Obgyn will definitely induce me at 39 weeks if I haven't gone into labor naturally but not any earlier then 39 I think it depends with your doctor definitely ask that's what they're there for .. good luck
