Did you always want children?

Question

I'm 22 and I have the phases of "they're so cute I want one" but then my period comes and the cramps are hell. I can't imagine contractions or giving birth and I wonder will it ever change? Did you always want kids some day or were/are you indecisive?

I just commented under another post that I went as a 'MOM' for career day in HS at 15 years old. I was an adult and married before I had kids but we have 7 and want more lol! ALWAYS wanted to be a mom.

I didnt really want them, then was told I couldn't have them so I wasn't really affected. Then I got pregnant.... 😂

As a toddler I used to say " when I'm. Mommy blablabla". There are photos of me as a baby trying to diaper my best. I've wanted to be a mother my entire life! And I'm 8 weeks I'll be holding my baby girl 😍

I was undecided until my mid 20s then I thought I'd have 1, maybe 2. I'm now 37 and expecting my 4th baby lol!  It's because in that stage in my life (early 20's), I was focused on building my own life. Later on around age 30, I was ready to settle down and start a family, and it changes your mindset, like you'll go through whatever it takes to make it happen. You might just not be ready yet and that's perfectly okay!

I didn't want them at all till I met my husband. When we first started dating, I told him I didn't think I wanted kids and listed all my reasons. He later said the sweetest thing I'd ever heard: "I love you because of you, not because of your reproductive capabilities." And I guess once I knew there was no pressure or expectation, I was able to think about it more clearly and eventually realize that being with the right man changed everything for me.

I've always wanted them. I've lost 3 and it still hasn't changed my mind. It will happen when it happens- and waiting sucks. But so does loosing them. I take a lot into consideration when I'm around kids/babies. "Can I really take care of another human right now in my current situation?"

I wasn't sure up until about 27/28. Before that I could honestly picture my life with or without kids and that confirmed for me that I definitely wasn't ready to have them, but it left me wondering if I'd ever change my mind. When things became more serious with my then boyfriend (now husband) and we started to settle down a bit, I slowly realized that I couldn't imagine growing old and not having children to raise. Got married a few months before I turned 30 and preggo just before I turned 31 last May.

I got pregnant with my first nearly 5 years ago. Currently in fourth, lost the third. Since then, between pregnancy and nursing, I have only had 6 periods! If someone had told me when I was newlywed that if I would just get pregnant, my pains would go away, I probably would have started earlier. Childbirth sucks, but only for about 12 hours, which was how long I was down for my period. I never had an adorable snuggler after a period either.

Honestly I hated children and never wanted any. That changed when I became pregnant with my first (drinking+sex-condom=baby). Everyone thought I'd just get an abortion because I didn't want kids, but even before the test turned positive I was in love with her and knew I could never do that. Now I'm pregnant with my third and already planning when to try for number 4
