First time IUI and PCOS

Lindsey

Hello All,

My husband and I have been ttc for over two years. I had been taking Metformin the whole time just one a day - 500mg which regulated my 35-40 day cycles to 28-30 days. Last summer we got pregnant on my first round of 50 mg Clomid and miscarried at 7 weeks. In January I started Clomid again for 3 more cycles - with all ending in BFNs. I was always ovulating, and ovulating naturally without Clomid too. My husband has been checked and the fertility specialist said his sperm is the best she has seen in a while - he loved that! She also said I have PCOS "light". That I have some symptoms but not so severe since I ovulate on my own. I just switched to a new doctor and she upped my Metformin to 750mg of the extended release twice a day. She also said we should move to IUI. This cycle we are trying IUI for the first time. I am on Femera, instead of Clomid, and today is CD7. I go in on CD12 for a follicle scan.

I would love any advice or stories you have on IUI. Does anyone know why she did Femara instead of Clomid? Anyone successful with IUI and PCOS? Anyone not successful? I have read about women who release 4 eggs and all 4 are fertilized, and also women who release 4 eggs and none of them get fertilized. I am excited to try this procedure, and whether is works or not I will know more about my body. Thank you for any responses!
