Toddler wearing / travel / kind of multi-question post

Mi

Hey guys! I have two trips coming up, one where we will be doing some hiking (son will be 18 months) and one to Disney world (son will be 19 months). I need some tips on how to manage it so he doesn't get totally exhausted, and neither do we.

I am going to get an umbrella stroller that weighs 10 pounds that I can wear on my back when not in use - but my son is REALLY active and excitable and I just don't know... well, how this will go.

He's not that sweet child that will hold your hand nicely all day. He's that insane child who will be scaling Splash Mountain in the 2 seconds you took your eyes off him. I bought a baby backpack with a leash and tried it out at a museum, but it only made him fall backwards on his ass every time he took off running. 🤦🏻‍♀️

So now, I'm considering toddler wearing. He's outgrown our old baby bjorn, and I've seen some blogs on designs for older children that place less stress on the back. Do any of you have experience in baby-wearing for older babies? Any brands in particular you can recommend?
