Our One Year

So my bf and I say our anniversary is on the day we met rather than the day we started dating or officially became an item and I pretend it’s for some deep reason like the day we met was the day that changed our lives for the better or whatever, but really it’s just because that’s the only actual date either of us can remember to mark as an anniversary. So that’s what we go with.

Anyway, September 25 will be one year since the day we first met and I’m so excited 😍 Since we both still live at home with our parents, we’re getting a hotel to have our own little mini vacation. We’re going back to the place we went on our first date, and he keeps hinting at some big “secret surprise” he’s going to have ready for me, and I’m not allowed to meet him at the hotel until he sets it up. He loves to do sweet, romantic things for me and I’m going crazy with anticipation!

With all the crazy stories I hear about how some boyfriends/husbands are just total douches, I wanna spread some major appreciation for my man. He puts up with me first of all, and I know I’m not easy. He tries to understand my perspective on issues and work out problems we have. He’ll go above and beyond to make me happy and show me what I mean to him. He’s supportive and encouraging of my dreams and goals in life and what’s to be beside me when I accomplish them, and wants me there for all of his as well. He’s sensitive and thoughtful, and emotionally connected. He keeps every little gift or card I’ve given him on a shelf that he can see everyday and looks at them periodically. He loves me even when I’m crazy, but he balances me out by showing me a different side of things and being firm in his guidance of me when I’m messing up. He cares about both my physical and mental well-being and makes efforts to help me stay as healthy as I can in all aspects. He is genuine and loyal and respectful and in return for being as amazing as he is, he only asks for my love back and thanks me as often as he can for being a part of his life. He is the embodiment of the definition of pure love.
