Do you think relationships with mothers and their sons can be really weird?

Do you think some mother and son relationships are really strange and even a little sexual (maybe unintentionally). My MIL and my SO's relationship makes me a little uncomfortable. I sent her a picture of him on his first day of school and she was like "tell him to be a good boy". And we have a baby together and she always refers to him as "daddy". Maybe I'm reading to much into it and my mind goes dirty places but just some of the language throws me off. I also feel like Mothers baby their adult sons too much and it's weird.

No matter how old they get, they're always your baby. They're always your son. None of that is weird. If she was climbing into his bed at night, THAT would be weird. When our son was first born, my MIL called my son daddy a lot (and me mama for that matter.) I think there's an odd struggle for power in a man's life between the mother and the spouse for some reason. One seems to always be bothered by the other.

I think that the way you're interpreting is weirder than what they're doing. 
My husband and I have dogs, not kids, but whenever we visit she cause our dogs her grandkids and will say things like 'awww did your daddy give you guys a treat?' And things like that. Never once thought it was weird. 
Maybe stop and question why you're interpreting the way you are. Do you not like your MIL and have I'll feeling towards her and are subconsciously looking for more things to dislike? Is your husband a mommas boy and you dislike that bond? Anything else that could be causing you to see things the way you want and not for how they truly are?

Lmao. Y'all corrupted the word daddy. Don't wet me wrong I think it's hot to call a man daddy but that word is not at all sexual outside of the bedroom. You need to calm down.

I wouldn’t think that’s weird . My mom always refers to me as “Mom” or “mommy” because of my daughter. And I call her “juju” which is her name my daughter came up with. She also jokingly tells me to “be good or she will ground me” harmless Mom stuff I think

My fiances mom still asks him to help her bathe when he's home (hes from Mississippi and we live in Oregon). It really creeps me out and it seems like it makes him uncomfortable too. It was also just them when he was growing up, no dad so maybe that has something to do with it.

I think parents in general have strange relationships with their children. When your children become everything to you that's when I think things get weird. Parents need to try to be individuals as well as spouses and parents. So many woman I know see themselves as a mom first and foremost instead of being a person. I think the mother son thing is weird because woman often see a man as being someone that's going to take care of them. So even though he's a son he's often seen as a protector. I hope this is never me. I'll never expect my children to protect me, take care of me. Just put me in an old folks home and live your life. Lol!

Definitely can be weird. My ex and his mother would freak me out. They were together constantly, which is okay but it went beyond that. They would tickle eachother and almost cuddle on the couch. Weird
