How would your SO feel if you earned more money than them?

I read an interesting article:

The article goes on to say "The University of Chicago found that a wife making even $5,000 a year more than her husband was associated with a greater risk of divorce."

My thoughts are that it's not that earning more actually causes divorce. It's that people with a higher income of their own are more likely to have the financial resources to move out and get divorced.

Personally, my husband would be happy if I earned more than him, lol. He doesn't tie his identity to how much he makes. He always says that one of us earning more will always benefit the other person. He was very supportive when I was getting my MBA and always encourages me to apply for jobs .
