Question

How is it when you leave your baby's father ? 
Were you on your own or did you have support from parents? 
When did you start dating again and how do it affect your dating life being a single mom? 
How did you cope with the fact that your kid would be around another woman ?
Do you wish you would've stayed ?
These are some questions I've been thinking. I might end up a single mom but I'm trying to make things work . But these questions always scare me

I was a single mom for 6 years. I left my ex when my son was 10 months old and it's the best thing to ever happen to us. His true colors finally came out after that. He hasn't seen his "dad" for over 3 years and he is just fine. He is the happiest and sweetest kid ever. I know that if I would've stayed, my son would not have turned out so good. I had a lot of help from my parents. I moved back in with them and they helped watch my son while I worked full time. I was truly blessed. At first it was hard emotionally but then you look at that sweet baby you created and as long as they are happy and healthy, it's all worth it trust me. Dating took a year, and dating sucks. I was young (21) so guys were really immature. 3 years ago I left my parents house and moved us to a new town and started fresh. It's hard but you don't think about it. You just do it. I met my husband last year and my son finally has a real daddy. We are so happy and I know you can be too. Nothing worthwhile is easy but you can do it! Moms are the strongest creatures of God. You got this girl. Do what it right for yourself and your child, all will fall into place with time.

So at first it was scary and I really battled with the thought of being 21 divorced with a 3 year old. I felt ashamed ya know? But I have had and still do have so much help from my parents. My ex husband is basically a dad when it’s convenient for him. So my parents help me so much with child care and what not. I waited a year before I began dating again. I really wanted to focus on myself . And it doesn’t bother me that another woman is around my daughter. I think she’s a nice girl and my daughter really enjoys her. Hope this helps some !

Leaving my daughter's father was the best decision I made for both my daughter and I. My ex husband was mentally and physically abusive. I lived with my parents for a few months until I could rent my own apartment. it was very hard for me because I never married to get divorced but I new it had to be done for our safety. I starting dating when i felt i was ready but it was hard to find anyone i could develop feelings for. Finally afyer 4 years, i found the person i knew i was supposed to be with and now we are married. I had to work very hard for the first few years but my daughter has never been without. I had 6 jobs at one time then was able to save enough to buy a house on my own. She is 10 now and sees her dad with supervised visitation. She always has had positive male role models in her life. She is smart and healthy. I will never regret leaving her dad.

I don't at all regret leaving my son's dad. He was physically and emotionally abusive along with a whole bunch of other issues. He hasn't seen my son in over a year, before that it was very very sporadic and confusing for my son, and he's about 16k in the hole on child support (yet owns a horse? Priorities?) 
It was incredibly difficult at first. I did rely heavily on my parents and family. I stayed with my brother for a few weeks while I got on my feet and my parents helped a lot with child care. I got a small one bedroom apartment, worked my butt off, went for my MBA and saved up to buy a house by the time my son turned 2. 
I left my ex husband when my son was 11 weeks old with nothing to my name and a ton of.(his) debt to deal with. My son is now 4, I live in Orange County CA and make over six figures with sole custody. Life is good and you'll be amazed with how far you can go without someone dragging you down. 
I did start dating about a year and a half later. It was someone who had been in my life a long time and had always been there for me so it was the right fit. I'm not sure I would have ever gone out dating in the traditional sense on my own. .. I just like spending time with my little guy too much to give up these precious times to meet up with people who aren't worthwhile. Looking back I probably wasn't even ready then to start dating as I still had a ton of leftover emotional baggage from the abuse I endured with my ex. In any event, we've now been together almost 3 years, my son considers HUM sad (it's the not dad he's ever really know ) and we are expecting another little boy
