Itchy feet!!!

Ok so I have recently started having severely itchy feet. Like so bad that I unconsciously have ripped skin off while scratching the tops of my feet and toes!! I have scabs now all over the top of one foot because of this!! Ugh!!! I did some research and it freaked me out as it mentioned that my liver could be failing!!! What the hell!!! Ok so really what I need to know is if anyone else is experiencing this and if it's normal? I don't want to go in to the dr just because of itchy feet!! Lol sounds silly but I hate going in!!
