My boy friend thinks my dog is gonna be a problem when the baby comes!

So I have a dog a got little over a year ago. He is an american bulldog. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do? He has always been the baby and I don't wanna get rid of him. He is such a spoiled baby. But he is smart and is a good dog. And he is protective over me I just don't want him to harm the baby or anything. Someone help or any tips of what I can do to help prepare my dog for the baby! Thank you! CNN
