YEAST INFECTION?

ok this is a bit embarrassing to say but it's my first time experiencing this. so I'm experiencing some itching down there. It's mostly internal but some external itching as well. and I'm also spotting a bit but my period isn't till next week. I don't really know the syptoms of a yeast infection cuz I've never had one. if it's not, I wanna know other possibilities. and for the record, I'm not sexually active at the moment. last time I had sex was in July, but my ex was clean...or so he told me he was. I will see a doctor soon but if anyone can tell me before I go so I can be prepared, it would help a lot. thanks!
