How many people have a pig for a pet?

My son wants a pig for a pet and I would love to get him one. If you have one I have a few question plz! Would you recommend a pig as a pet? Do you regret it? How big it your pig?

My best friend has two. Just know there is NO such thing as a micro or mini pig that stays small. Expect at minimum a 75# animal if not more. They're very smart and fast learners. They need space. Unless you live in the country (and own your home) maybe check city ordinance. Many have restrictions on livestock in city limits that include pigs, goats, and chickens.

I would do a full workup of cost to upkeep on a pig they're great but far more work than most anticipate!

Pigs are great pets! Very intelligent and easily trained. Not as soft as a cat or dog but they still love to cuddle and get belly scratches and petted (not sure petted is a word lol). Very sociable animals.

My cousin got one and it was always nibbling / biting their kid. They gave it away shortly after.

never had one as a pet and they can be so cute and they're smart. but they aren't soft and probably wouldn't want to pet it all the time like you would a cat or dog. if you don't care about that then I would research it more to figure out what they need

pigs are livestock , not pets . as a parent it’s your responsibility to be the adult and not indulge your child’s fantasies .
