Any hair people??

My baby shower is October 14th and I really want to make sure my hair looks fresh! I'm a natural blonde, my natural color is kind of a dark ashy blonde and then I have lighter blonde throughout it from making it blonder in the past and then a lot of golden pieces. It's super grown out since I gave it a break from dying since it was started to break, but it doesn't look and it just looks ombré. I just want to brighten it up but don't have the money right now to get it professionally done, and I think if I try to do it myself it will be a disaster.. I put toner in it and it lightened it a little bit but I just want it to look blonder where it's all grown out. I got the okay from my doctor to dye my hair and really want to do something soon so that I look nice in the baby shower pictures and not hating my hair. Anything I can do to lighten it up without spending a lot a salon or messing up my hair?!
