How early/ late did you take maternity leave?

Idk if it's different in the US but in the uk you are apparently able to take maternity up to 11 weeks before your due date. How early did you take your maternity? 
I'm wanting to take my maternity 6 weeks before I'm due as I don't want to work the Christmas period (my job makes me poorly and I don't want to be poorly for Christmas)

I worked up til my due date with my 1st and plan to do the same this time around. would rather spend the time with baby after they're born.

I took off 4 weeks prior, he came two weeks early. In the US you can get 4 weeks paid prior and 6/8 weeks after depending on if its vaginal or c section.

For me not leaving until baby is born. It's going to suck but I would rather have the most time after birth.

I've had friends and teachers who worked right up until their water broke here in the US. Since my job isn't benefitted (also no sick pay or parental leave-- just getting paid when we work), I'm planning on doing the same thing. Gotta make that money!
