Rant- does no one respect boundaries anymore??

I’m 38+2, being induced on Oct. 4th at 39 weeks. I’ve expressed to everyone that I DO NOT want visitors at the hospital since it is crucial bonding time for my husband and I with our new baby. My family *was* super understanding, my husband’s family.. not so much. And now all of a sudden, everyone thinks I’m being selfish and is literally telling me “too bad”! My MIL has texted my husband saying she doesn’t care what I want, she’s going to be in the waiting room waiting to hold HER baby as soon as shes born! My husband wants her there. As awful as it sounds, I’m seriously hoping I just go into labor before my induction day and just go to the hospital alone just so I can have privacy and bonding time with my daughter. 
Sorry for the rant, I literally have no one to talk to about this 😕 any advice is welcome, I really don’t want to spend my last few pregnant days stressing over all of this.

Tell the nurses ahead of time that you don't want anyone to be allowed in. You're the patient so you decide who can come in, your husband has no say. I'd try to talk to him about it beforehand and explain your reasons to avoid hard feelings, but ultimately it's your decision. Do what's best for you

if you tell the staff you don't want visitors, no one will be allowed in the room. period. 
you are not selfish. and certainly not the first or only mom to feel this way. I don't like visitors either. good luck, mama!

my husband's family had a hard time swallowing the fact that i don't want anyone in the delivery room. they've all been there for the other 2 babies born and just assumed it would be okay to be there for mine. Idc... I value my privacy and only want my husband plus the doctor and nurses there. Even my husband was like you want strangers touching you and pulling on you and helping you push? 😂 pretty sure that's what they trained for. they're the experts. plus I have no qualms about kicking him out if he starts to tell me I'm laboring wrong or something. (he tends to be a huge know it all... sometimes at the worst time)

I don't really mind the fact our families want to meet her at the hospital since my daughter is the first grandchild. But my family thinks they are ALL going to be in the delivery room with me watching her be born. Little do they know my best friend is the only person other than my husband and hospital staff that I want in there. And they aren't even getting a phone call that I'm in labor until she's here and I'm ready for visitors.

Just tell the hospital you want no visitors. They will stop anyone that tries to come.

Just repeating what every one else has said, the hospital will respect your wishes if you tell them no visitors. I'm having the same issue so I totally get it!

You can also register at the hospital to where your name doesn't come up when someone asks what room you're in. Here it's called "no-pub"

I feel the same way! What we’re doing is telling the hospital staff that no visitors are allowed. My husband agrees with me but our families just don’t get it. I’m sure you can make some arrangements with the staff so you can enjoy your little one with no stress.

I'm going in October 4th as well:) And I'm going to tell the nurses and staff that I don't want visitors till a certain time frame. Sure it will hurt my parents feelings a bit but they'll understand

I'm having a c-section Monday and I have told everyone I don't want visitors. My MIL is going to be there though to see the babies with my husband while they are stitching me up (he doesn't want her to hold them yet as he is being super over protective lol). But as soon as they wheel me back to recover they are kicking everyone who isn't my husband and they aren't allowed in my room at all until the next day.
