Make infertility

Can anyone share any info they have in regards to male infertility? We have been trying for about two years. I have had a baby with another partner 7 yes ago. He was married previously with no pregnancy, and we've done an at home test with "no sperm count detected" . We went to a fertility center but they really didn't shed any light on what to do for him other than a sperm analysis. We still want to do that but is it more effective to go to his doctor? For testing rather than IVF center. Like get an ultrasound. I just want to take the most effective route possible. IVF center quoted $25k and more if he had a problem but didn't tell me what that would entail. Thanks!
