Mother in law present during labor?

I want to know how was your experience having your MIL in the birthing room with your husband. My MIL is coming in a few days  and my husband was considering her to be there but i told him i wasn't sure ,not bc I dislike her ... no . But because Im afraid  of TMI lol i know she wont judge cause she has 5 of her own . But i want to hear stories or experiences of mother in laws !

I think it should be completely your decision not your husband’s. It’s your labor... I personally think that it’s an intimate, very sacred moment that should be shared between mom and dad. It took 2 to make the baby, it should take 2 to welcome baby. During labor the last thing you want to/should worry about is tmi crap. You should be as comfortable as possible and relaxed. She can wait in the waiting room. My husband won’t be there when i push, my choice. He is a crazy nut and might knock someone out and I don’t want to be worrying about that. Do whatever you want. Like i said, it is your decision only

Let me start by saying I love my mother in law. she's super nice and sweet. can make me crazy sometimes but there's a lot worse out there. with that being said, there is no way in hell I'd let her in the room during labor/delivery. after baby comes out and all IDC stay as long as you want but during the birth no no no. my mom and husband are the only ones allowed. If I was closer to her tho sure. were just not at that level of closeness.

For me personally, I am privacy kind of gal. So no one would come in besides baby daddy of course.

I had my mil in my room with my son but turns out she doesn’t like blood and guts so to speak. She ran out of the room when it was go time! This time she’ll be with our 3.5 year old and she’s ok with that! I appreciated that she attempted to see her first grandchild be born. But I definitely know she won’t be coming in this time

My mother-in-law will be at my side for the whole labor and delivery. She is my biggest support system besides my husband. Nothing to be embarrassed about, it's nothing she hasn't seen! It's my husband I'm worried about! She will be a huge help if he falls off the deep end. Remember it's your decision and you can have whoever you want by your side! My MIL has 2 boys and will never experience childbirth with a daughter. I feel honored to give her this and so thankful for all her support. I'm all about family support, my husband and I will sure need it!!

If my husband and I didn’t already plan on just us I would probably have my mom and mil in there. They’ve been through it before. And who better to smack my husband than his mom if he pisses me off 😂😂 I have a great relationship with my mother in law. It’s up to you. But at that point you don’t care who sees what lol

I can hardly stand my MIL as we all live together and spend way too much time together. She welcomes herself to all my appointments when I’ve told her I want to be alone, having her in the delivery room would have me in an all time rage.. but that’s just my opinion.

I LOVE my mother in law.. she and my mom became best friends after my husband and I met. We have great relationships with both moms so they were both there coaching me and my husband was up by me encouraging me. I LOVED it. No one commented on my hoohaa or anything lol I wouldn’t change a thing this time around.

I would be comfy with my mother in law more than my own mother (my Mum would stress me out). Depends on your relationship though
