mashed foods for baby ???

okay ladies my son is a week from being 7 months. every time I eat his mouth just waters and I tried eating while he drinks his bottle but he won't drink his milk when he smells good. Do you guys think it's okay to start him on mashed potatoes and mashed beans ? he's been doing good on baby food but i just wanted everyone's input.

Many moms skip purees and go straight to finger foods. Anything really soft that you can smoosh between your fingers is fine for baby to eat with their gums. 
Try looking up “baby led weaning”. It’s a process some moms start with at 6 months (no purees) that encourages baby to feed themselves. I didn’t do BLW personally but I use their info for inspiration. I started with purees at 6 months and now at 8 months, I’m starting to transition to more finger foods. I look up baby led weaning on IG and Pinterest for food ideas. Steamed veggies, soft fruits, bread, cheese, pasta, mashed potatoes, beans, etc are all good options.

yes he can eat pretty much anything. you dont have to stick to baby food. just start with mashed foods, maybe really soft steamed veggies that he can mash in his mouth. :)

Oh yeah. I literally have to save pieces of what I'm eating for my 7 month old or she cries lol. She has pretty much everything I do, pasta, veggies, cheese, etc.
